Tamsin Dearnley has arranged the Scottish tune “The Grey Silkie of Sule Skerry” for solo lever or pedal harp. This traditional song from the Orkney and Shetland islands to the far north of Scotland tells the story of a young woman who is seduced by a male Selkie and bears his child, only for the Selkie to come to claim the child and take him back to the sea when it is grown. The sheet music contains the basic melody, lyrics and fingering, a simple arrangement for beginners, and an intermediate arrangement (transcribed from the video below).
