Tamsin Dearnley’s Quévenette is for solo lever or pedal harp, or for two lever or pedal harps. “I have always loved Breton music, so I thought I’d pay homage to this wonderful musical culture by trying to write something ‘dans le même esprit‘!” says Dearnley. “If you’ve ever been to a traditional Breton evening, you’ll remember the repetitive, hypnotic music that pairs so well with the traditional imbibing of good wine and cheese, followed by unhurried, almost meditative group dancing. With this in mind, feel free to repeat the tune as many times as you like, varying it as you go.”
