Serena O’Meara’s arrangement of the traditional tune “The Water Is Wide” is for lever harp and any of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, french horn, trumpet in B-flat, alto saxophone, violin, viola, or cello. This popular folk melody has several titles, has been adapted for several hymn settings, and has been set in various time signatures by composers such as Benjamin Britten, John Rutter, and Hal Hopson. In this arrangement it is presented as a fantasy.
