Serena O’Meara’s arrangement of the Christmas hymn “Once in Royal David’s City,” whose music was composed by Henry Gauntlett, is for lever or pedal harp and any of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet in B-flat, alto saxophone, violin, viola, or cello. In 1849 Gauntlett, who was both an organist and composer, set the poem by Cecil Frances Alexander to his hymn tune, “Irby.” This arrangement has four verses separated by interludes.
