Description

Note from the arranger

This is one of the few Italian Baroque style pieces by O’Carolan that has English lyrics. The legend from the early 1700’s tells how Miss Fetherston spoke to O’Carolan on his way to Sunday Mass. O’Carolan responds with how he has heard of her as a “young lady of great beauty and much wit. Miss Fetherston invites O’Carolan to her home. Instead of paying attention in church, O’Carolan composed this lovely slow air for Miss Fetherston.
