Serena O’Meara’s arrangement of the traditional Christmas hymn “Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine” is for lever or pedal harp and any of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet in B-flat, alto saxophone, violin, viola, or cello. The first printed appearance of this song is in a play from 16th century Leipzig, Germany. The hymn tune, “Resonet in Laudibus” (Let Our Praises Resound), dates from the 14th century. The tune is additionally known as “Song of the Crib,” and the melody of the verse (without the refrain) is also known as “Christ Was Born on Christmas Day.”
