Turlough Carolan’s “Carolan’s Concerto” is arranged by Serena O’Meara’s for lever or pedal harp and any of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet in B-flat, alto saxophone, violin, viola, or cello. “According to legend, Carolan was visiting the Power family in Dublin when he was challenged to compose a piece in the popular Italian style of the day,” says O’Meara. “The result was this piece in the style of Corelli, dedicated to Mrs. Power.” It is frequently performed at weddings as either a processional or recessional.
