Alpine Impressions, by Monika Stadler, is a two-movement work for solo pedal harp, commissioned for Elisabeth Plank’s album Chimaera. Inspired by Stadler’s Austrian roots and the Alpine landscape, the first movement, “Mountain Morning,” features rhythmic energy and shifting moods, while the second, “The Summit’s Tranquility,” offers a sense of stillness and peace.

This beautiful piece is filled with many colors and textures, created by various special effects, which together takes one on a magical aural journey to the Alps. I purchased this piece before my return from a visit to the Alps and as I practiced, it served as such a joyful reminder of the magnificent scenery and sensory experiences of that wonderful voyage.
