Notes from the arranger
Harpists are often asked to play popular Welsh melodies at functions, be they ceremonies, receptions, weddings or official dinners. In this collection I have compiled ten of the most well-known tunes. The songs can be played individually or as a medley lasting about fifteen minutes; performed as such, you should please everyone, since many of your audience will have their own favourites.
These arrangements are suitable for both pedal and lever harp, lever changes inserted with the complete performance in mind. On the other hand, if the tunes are played singly, the levers should be prepared for the particular key required at the beginning of each one.
Pob hwyl! – enjoy these wonderful melodies – it’s not surprising that Wales is known as the Land of Song.
