Note from the composer
Sonatine was written with the idea of creating a piece in a classical context using my own musical language. It can be handled like a classical sonatine and, if desired by the performer, can have added ornaments. The first movement, “Moderato grazioso,” is a joyful piece with dancing melodies in a very traditional manner. This movement is to be played with joy and ease. The second movement, “Lento dolcissimo,” is a simple melody in a meditative surrounding with a flowing character. Listen to the rhythm inwardly and let it flow. The third movement, “Allegretto scherzando,” has a mischievous character that interrupts simple patterns. Try to play with the simple idea that lies in the music and surprise the audience.
