Note from the composer
Each menuet has its own distinct character, allowing performers some flexibility in how they choose to present them. Feel free to use them in the way that best suits the program or musical context. The first “Menuet” should be played with a light, childlike sense, capturing a feeling of innocence, simplicity, and gentle movement. The character should remain playful and natural, without becoming too heavy or overly serious. The second “Menuet” has a more melancholic character and should be performed in a thoughtful and reflective way.
