Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier

Kim Robertson’s arrangement of the traditional Irish song “Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier” is for solo lever or pedal harp. An Irish folk song that became popular during the American Revolutionary War, its melody is similar to the 17th century Irish lullaby, “Shule Aroon.” This evocative arrangement includes an intro and recurring interlude, and four verses with melodic and harmonic variations.
