Note from the arranger
“Toutouig” is a Breton lullaby in A minor (no flats or sharps). The 6/8 meter creates a comforting rocking rhythm and the gently descending bassline carries one down to rest. This theme and variation establishes an almost hypnotic effect as the tune repeats. The text of the first verse of the cradle song is provided in the score in the original Breton along with chord symbols. There are no lever changes. The arrangement utilizes occasional left-hand harmonics, rolled chords and près de la table (p.d.l.t.) or playing near the soundboard.
