José Enrique Guzmán’s Flor de Cempasúchil (“Mexican Marigold”) is for solo pedal harp. This piece is named after the flower “used by ancient Aztecs to lighten the road for those who have passed on their way to “Mictlan” (The Underworld),” says Guzmán. It is common to see this flower on the “Día de Muertos” (Day of the Dead) during the national celebration in Mexico.
