Once in Royal David’s City

Erin Hansen Janke’s arrangement of Henry J. Gauntlett’s “Once in Royal David’s City” is for solo pedal harp. Originally written for children, this song simply tells the story of Jesus Christ who came to earth to be born as a baby into great poverty. Written for early advanced pedal harp, this arrangement is meant to be played very freely. Techniques include left hand harmonics, 3 pedal changes, and glissandi.
