Anna Dunwoodie’s arrangement of the popular Christmas carol “O, Little Town of Bethlehem” is for four lever or pedal harps. A supplemental part is included with the complete set which provides an advanced beginner version of each tune. Dunwoodie’s arrangement combines two versions of the tune: one well known in the UK, Ireland and Canada and set to the tune “Forest Green” (collected by Ralph Vaughn Williams) and one known in the United States set to the tune of “St Louis” (by Phillip Brooks and Lewis Redner). Each part in the arrangement shares the tune, harmony, and accompaniment.

Note from the arranger

This piece is arranged for four intermediate lever or pedal harps with at least 34 strings. My students and fellow ensemblers describe this as the typical and perfect harpy arrangement for a carol ensemble, with everything you want to hear and play. From harmonics to ripply arpeggios and lush chords, it has become a definite favorite for the harpists performing this, and audience alike. The second tune has a sneaky G# and a C# which each appear several times.
