Note from the arranger

The words of this song tell the story of a young woman who falls in love with a man of whom her father does not approve. While the lovers are talking and declaring their love for each other in her father’s garden, he jumps out of the bushes and kills the young Willie with a knife. This arrangement keeps a fast pace and emphasizes the rhythmically hypnotic nature of the repetitive melody.
