Participanthello everyone,
i wanted to thank you all so much. when i presented these ideas to my teacher, she said that the most important thing was to really understand the different lines and the note relationships between them. once she said that and with the solfege the music sort of fell into my fingers and Faure was memorized… i played it early on yesterday and the performance went flawlessly. i want to thank you all for all the help. it was irreplaceable and unequivocally important.zach-hatcher
Participanthey there is an edition online on imslp.org that has fingerings if you search under the first initial of the composer and then click on Pierne and go to the piece labeled Koncertstuck with the k there are a bunch of fingerings in there. the ones that aren’t are pretty straight forward

ParticipantHey Emily,
I am right now studying with june han at a summer festival and I performed this piece just this morning. There aren’t any arrangements but the alphonse leduc version is very easy to mark up as a harp part. Just remember that there is quite a lot of awkward jumping!May 25, 2011 at 12:49 pm in reply to: Israel harp competition/USA International harp competition #147871zach-hatcher
ParticipantI want to thank you all so much. I actually decided against Israel…It seems a little unstable an environment for now. I actually am going to prepare for the cite de arts harp competition in Paris next November, and then If I have Time I will do the USA International. I must say it is sort of funny to receive a letter saying that “we’re very sorry but the competition will be postponed due to a war that is going on. sorry!”

ParticipantHey,
I play exclusively with the French style but it is not the same as the Grandjany method. I feel that technique is relative and after all as Rita Costanzi says, “the technique is the slave of the music.” As long as music is made the meathod is irrelevent. It may be like the way renie students are taught. Because of her small hands she bent her fourth finger and now all her students play like that. The Grandjany students probably just adapted nuances into a technique.zach-hatcher
ParticipantThanks everyone for responding! I did ask Kathleen and she gave me her markings and such. thanks sam for the advice, the emails are rewarding.

Participanthi rosie, They have piano arrangements that are easy to transcribe because of minimal chromatics. You can find them for free online if you really look
