MemberIf you are a member of American Federation of Musicians either in Rochester or Syracuse, you will have a rate sheet showing the minimum allowable charge for gigs, and the additional cartage charge allowable for a harp. If you are not a member, you can find out that minimum by asking a member,(Symphony Orchestra member, for example)

My favorite pieces to play are the “standards” from the big band era, which have melodies and harmonies that seem to please any age. I do my own arrangements and do not sell or record them, but give them to my students when their ability matches the technique involved in the piece.

One new (to me) exhibit was that of David Kortier, harpmaker (http://www.kortier.com) from Duluth, Minnesota. He brought four kinds of lever harps ranging in price from $1995. to $6995.
