Check out the 25th anniversary edition of the show. They used two lyon and healy 23 gold concert harps. SOO beautiful. You can play this music using the les miz piano version. It’s just lovely.

Thank you for your response harpists. The deal is two million general liability required for Marriott’s, Trumps and various other hotels/resorts. The general quote I received is $425-450.00 per year for the policy. So you work “for free”for a job to pay for the policy, and hope other venders require your certificate so you feel better about paying for it! You pay for the liability, and name the hotel/resort as a beneficiary. They get notified that they’re named on your policy. Annoying.

Thanks Janet. Yes, it is too ridiculous. This is a famous BIG resort. I resent it also. What could happen? I am never away from my harp, and in fact do not even let the valet guys move it …ever. The Marriott’s around the country started this about four years ago, but I’ve never needed “proof” before. Unfortunately I am the entire orchestra(!) for the ceremony and luncheon. Sooo looking for easy policy, with the shortest amount of time that I can have it for.

We have a healing harps program in Palm Desert California, and every student and teacher was glued to our TV that night. The Southern California harp community all know one another, so the word of the program was out there. Lyon and Healy also sent email’s out for the airing. I was so blown away by the amazing caliber of their playing. The dexterity, the grace, the passion was all evident in that short program. I can’t decide if I was inspired, or discouraged about ever playing again after watching world class musicians! Thank you PBS for yet again taking the arts to the masses.

We have an active healing harp program at Eisenhower Hospital, and the Administrater is a harp teacher.
Her name is Jeanette Dubonne, and her email is jeanette@dubonne.net Jeanette has a Celtic harp, but knows many harpists in the program, and perhaps one of them could help you.
You can use my name (lynne) when you contact her. Good luck!
Another resource might be the one hour drive to University of Redlands and the harp teacher there, Mary Dropkin.
    Good luck.
