I’m afraid not. I’ve been taking harp lessons for almost two months and realized that playing harp demands rather different technique than on the piano.
But of course there are lot of things you can gain from taking piano lessons. You can learn reading music, knowing composers and repertoires, theory but no technique. Especially for me, it keep entertaining me until I save enough money to buy my first harp!

If the audio file is in midi format you can use Mid Converter. I used to use it and it’s quite fun. It even can separate the sound of many musical instruments in an ensemble.

I received my Prelude from L&H CPO last month and it came in near perfect condition.
Barbara, I purchased some of your books along with my harp purchase. Right now I’m still struggle with beginning pages of Grossi’s so maybe at least one year from now I’ll be able to play some of your easiest arrangements on my Prelude . But I played them all on the piano and I find out that you’re doing wonderful arrangement and also your work has covered all the time period in classical music.
I would love to complete my collections of your arrangement in my next annual online shopping in December and hopefully by that time you’ve already released some more books!

Hi Fiona. I’ve just had my first harp lesson too last week. I’m quite lucky because as a busy performer my teacher can arrange to give me weekly lessons. Based on my piano lesson experience I can feel that she’ll guide me through the right track. Hopefully you will also have many wonderful times with your teacher!

Thank you for all of your suggestions. My long term goal is to play classical music on my Prelude, so I think it’s best to keep it tuned in Eb.
For avoiding repetitions of mistakes on levered strings, I think I’ll do the exercises in key of C minor instead then raised all of the levers necessary when I have quite mastered it…Bowie
Briggs, I’m also a fan of style 15. I love it’s simplicity of design and in the real world it’s just much more affordable than my dream harp!
I’ve seen one advertised in Lyon Healy CPO for under $10,000 but it’s already sold. For the time being I’m just very happy with my Prelude..
