Finale and Sibelius are the big guns of notation programs. Very high learning curve, but very fully featured. Finale is maybe more difficult to get started with but gives you far more control over details than Sibelius.
However, both are major overkill if you aren’t going into the publishing business. As mentioned in this thread, Finale notepad is a free program that gives you basic notational capaibilities.
MusicTime Deluxe from gvox.com is another good beginning level program. Not free, but more features and more user-friendly than notepad.
It all depends on what you need to do.
However, if you are talking about playing the music in, any program is going to require a midi setup. That’s just part of the deal.

Dangerous Liasons has a scroll topped single action harp (Naderman, maybe?) that appears in many movies where Bertille Fournier is the harp consultant.
BTW, Carl, the harp in the cart is a 21 isn’t it? At least in the birthday party scene the harpist is playing an Erard Gothic.

Yes, get that checked. FWIW, if it is perncious anemia (I hope it isn’t), the oral B12 won’t do any good, since pernicious anemia means your body loses the ability to metabolize it. On the plus side, if caught early, it’s not hard to treat and the symptoms are reversible.
David, have you had a B12 level during any of your problems? That sounds very much like what I had with optic neuritis from pernicious anemia, and I had regular eye exams, too, but the opthamologist never found it.

Well, actually I think they’d say, “Sure, sign me up” and then do exactly as they have been doing. The only people who would feel bound by agreeing are those who are already ethical people, alas.

You’ve got to be joking.
If you truly wish to make a file accessible to everyone who comes to your website, you should use a format like pdf mp3 that is readable by many computers, as opposed to .doc, nwc, .mus, etc.
Sorry, not badmouthing the program, but the player, which does not run on a mac. It does not run in linux, it does not run in some versions of Windows, etc.
The program is fine, as far as I know, but posting noteworthy oonly files, or finale only files, or sibelius only files on a site like that one (as opposed to a showcase for the program itself) is just exclusionary bad design.
You can do nothing with this file, however, unless you have the Noteworthy Composer or noteworthy composer plug-in:
