I just posted 3 used harps for sale on my company web site, http://www.swansonharp.com. Check them out.
May 24, 2007 at 4:01 pm #73093Jerusha AmadoParticipantCarl,
These harps are beautiful.
May 28, 2007 at 2:57 am #73094carl-swansonParticipantJerusha- Thanks so much for the kind comments!
May 28, 2007 at 3:45 am #73095unknown-userParticipantI hope I can buy one one day. The straightboard Lyon & Healy is gorgeous.
May 28, 2007 at 4:50 am #73096unknown-userParticipantYes, it is lovely isn’t it. I played one of Carls restored harps at Camden and it was immaculate – one with a bust of Wagner on the column! (but I didn’t hold that against it!). I had a sweet tone and the workmanship was impeccible.
May 29, 2007 at 12:23 am #73097carl-swansonParticipantRosemary- A couple of times over the 20 or so years that I rented instruments to Camden I was short and had to rent my ‘good’ harp. The one I keep for myself. That’s the one you played. It was built in 1899 and I restored it 20 years ago. It’s still a wonderful instrument. And no everybody, it’s NOT for sale!
May 29, 2007 at 1:37 am #73098Sherj DeSantisParticipantCarl,
Any chance you can post a picture of that one? I would love to see it.
May 29, 2007 at 1:43 am #73099unknown-userParticipantOh dear, I really thrashed it….played ffffff all the time and really crunched the “gears” over and over…I’m sure I shook at least 3 rivets loose playing the Ballade…and whacked the mechanism several times raising with wild abandon…..(tee hee hee, only teasing…) You should have charged me more for the rental! It was beautiful and too good to hire out to grubby harpists from the antipodes..
May 29, 2007 at 1:44 am #73100unknown-userParticipantAnd yes, we want a piccie, we want a piccie, we want a piccie!
May 29, 2007 at 8:22 am #73101carl-swansonParticipantIf someone can explain how to put a picture up here I’ll try to do it. I’m a lower life form when it comes to computers.
May 29, 2007 at 1:27 pm #73102Leigh GriffithParticipantCarl,
If I can do it, anyone can! I followed what Ken said in another thread:
“Posted by Ken Matthews on 01/28/07 11:37 PMLeigh,
once you have the the pictures uploaded to you web site, then right
click on the picture and select “copy links location” then here in the
post reply select the “add image icon” then paste the address of you
picture you just copied from you web site. You should see it in your
reply message before you post the message here. If not.. Then something
is wrong.”I hope this works for you!

May 29, 2007 at 4:00 pm #73103carl-swansonParticipantI’m leaving for a short regulation trip this afternoon. As soon as I get back(probably Friday) I’ll try to put up some pictures of the ‘Wagner’ harp. But I’m warning all of you, computers never work for me. I have a computer guru who gets me out of trouble and even with him sitting next to me, most proceedures don’t work! But I’ll give it a shot…
May 29, 2007 at 4:10 pm #73104unknown-userParticipantHave a good trip, and keep away from dodgey theme resteraunts…(tee hee)
May 29, 2007 at 4:45 pm #73105Kathleen ClarkParticipantOkay, I’ll try it — it works! Only I don’t get the “Copy Links Location” option.
May 29, 2007 at 5:45 pm #73106carl-swansonParticipantI heard there’s a Salzedo based S & M theme restaurant down where I’m going. As you eat, the waiters come over and scream “Elbows Up!!!”.
