Relatives play?

Do any of you have family members that play harp as well?

I am the only one in my family, although many of my family members, and all of my nieces and nephews, play some instrument or another. Some of them multiple instruments.

My nephew likes to play around on my harp and I think he has potential, but he is totally obsessed with playing the guitar right now.

I think the harp is only charming to those who are really obsessed with it. It always just astounds me that not everyone who looks at it wants to sit down and play it. HAHAHAHAHA…..actually it’s kind of funny to me that I actually can’t believe people don’t just want to have one and learn one. Everyone in my family loves to hear me play my harp and thinks it is very cool that I play the harp, but no one else wants to learn it. I asked my brother (who plays the piano) “How can you NOT want to learn it?” and he just

I visited my relatives last summer and brought my Celtic harp, Maeve, up with me. My favorite cousins (both a year or two younger than me) are very musical but don’t play instruments. They loved my harp! I tought them how to tune and let them play with the harp. They were so happy. My mother always wanted to play the harp but never got the chance. I am, however, the only one in our extended family who plays the harp.

My nephew plays acoustic guitar (alternative style) as a semi-professional, and my son plays classical piano as a hobbyist.
