ParticipantHave any of you tried any of the Harry Potter sheet music? The link is here:
http://www.wbshop.com/Sheet-Music/hpschoolmusic,default,sc.htmlIt seems to all be written for paino, and I’m wondering how smoothly it would translate to harp. Especially lever harp! I’ve been playing for about 9 months but I’m not afraid of a challenge.

MemberLauren, I got the “Fluffy’s Harp” piano music from Sheet Music Plus. It’s not too difficult, but pretty chromatic. I made a You Tube of it a few years ago, and used Garage Band to add a simulated Contra Bassoon and spooky noises. Here’s the link.

ParticipantHedwig’s theme (the best known one) is quite chromatic. Personally I don’t think it translates well to lever harp at all, myself, unless you’re happy playing with one hand and flipping with the other.
For pedal harp, you can get Fluffy’s Harp and Hedwig’s Theme:

ParticipantThere are two pieces that were arranged for harp although I am not sure how hard they would be on lever.

ParticipantI’ve never actually tried playing it seriously myself, since I don’t know too many other musicians in my immediate area, but I did arrange a Harry Potter piece for violin and harp several months back.

ParticipantThe Virginia Harp Center sells the sheet music for harp for several of the tunes from the Harry Potter movies.

MemberDon’t despair yet… There are several pieces of music which are perfectly playable on the harp. For instance, A window to the Past. Alright, it modulates several times to another key but it isn’t strictly necessary to play those – playing an octave higher or repeating everything a few times also suffices… Double Trouble also sounds rather nice on the harp.
Unfortunately, the sheet music I’ve got is on my other laptop so I can’t look at it right now, but I think I was able to sort of play Hogwarts Hymn as well. However, I agree with you that you’d probably need a pedal harp for Hedwigs theme… 🙁
@ Anna: Thanks for posting your arrangement, I can’t wait to try it out! I don’t know any violists but it looks as though I could give it a try on the tin whistle…
