I’m working on a research project for my high school GT class and

need some information on the French harp technique.

I am not the best authority on this, since I studied Salzedo technique, too, but I

work with harpists who use the French technique. It seems that the fingers are

straight, not curved, the gestures are down, not up, and there are some very

different fingerings used. There is a video available of Grandjany’s method,

which I have seen advertised in the American Harp Society journal. Check the

Internet for sites on Marcel Grandjany, Lily Laskine, Jacqueline Borot, and

Henriette Reni?. There is probably lots of info there.

Get a copy of Renie’s method for the Harp.
