If you play the harp, are interested in competing (without having to learn the insane classical pieces which frankly is a little boggling), there is a great oppurtunity–Irish dance competitions in the Southern and Western regions usually also offer music competitions. To be in the music competition you don’t have to be a dancer. It’s really a lot of fun and doesn’t cost to much to enter. It really helped me build up confidence performing, and I’d really love to see other harpists more often.
