Lyon & Healy launches Drake lever harp

September 10, 2020

The Drake comes in three finishes: mahogany, natural, and red and natural (pictured)

Lyon & Healy has launched the Drake, a new model of lever harp. This instrument is the first lighter–tension harp released by the manufacturer in 20 years and is strung with BioCarbon Strings, a blend of bio–plastic derived from sugarcane. The 34–string harp has the same range as their Ogden model, but weighs 6 pounds less and is priced at $2,900. Janet Harrell, Lyon & Healy’s CEO says, “Throughout the concept and design processes, we knew we wanted to create something that was a little playful, and not exactly what you would expect from Lyon & Healy.” In that vein, the finish options include a surprising mix of red and natural.
