The Dutch-based electroacoustic lever harp manufacturer Harp-E has opened a new facility in London, its first international office and assembly facility outside of the Netherlands. According to a press release, the company says this expansion will “allow Harp-E to meet the increasing demand from its growing global customer base more efficiently and to deepen its operational footprint in a key market.”
“Opening our London office and assembly line is a really exciting and logical step for Harp-E,” says London-based Dutch designer Joris Beets, founder of Harp-E. “This city has been my home for a long time, and it’s the perfect hub for our international growth… this new facility allows us to bring our harps to more people, faster, while maintaining the high quality our customers expect.”
The Harp-E instrument began in the Netherlands as a result of collaboration between Beets, music education charity Het Leerokest, and the Delft University of Technology with the goal of developing a more affordable electric lever harp.
