Harpist Ashley Jackson will release her new EP, Cover Girl, on Feb. 27 on Decca Records US. Cover Girl includes new arrangements of music by female pop artists such as Nina Simone, Whitney Houston, and Arooj Aftab. “Cover Girl allowed me to dig into the depths and complexities of the human voice, and explore how to engage with the various types of genres that I’ve always loved,” Jackson says in the album notes. “What I love about this project is that it gave me an opportunity to be my freest, most authentic self.”
Jackson has previously released two solo albums, Ennanga (2023) and Take Me to the Water (2025). Jackson is currently an assistant professor and the director of performance for the music department at Hunter College, where she teaches chamber music, harp, and courses such as “Arts in New York City” and “Storytelling through Performance.” She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Juilliard School, a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.
