Phyllis Adams has collaborated with her flutist/conductor/husband Monty Adams for over 40 years in performances and publications. She has been the Chair of the Harp Department at the Music Institute of Chicago since 2016. Past performances include concerts with Chicago Symphony under George Solti at Carnegie Hall and James Levine at the Ravinia Festival. For numerous summer seasons while living in Chicago, she was the Principal Harpist of the Milwaukee Symphony. As a college student, Phyllis was the Second Harpist in the Louisville Orchestra under Jorge Mester. She was a student of Edward Druzinsky, Principal Harpist of the Chicago Symphony, Alice Chalifoux, Principal Harpist of the Clevland Orchestra, and Gloria Agostini, NYC’s leading studio recording harpist.
