Welsh harpist Amanda Whiting, started her classical studies at the age of 6. With a BMus and LRSM in Classical harp, she then went on to obtain her Masters in Jazz. Amanda currently teaches Jazz harp at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. As a composer she has numerous pieces on the Trinity Music College and ABRSM exam syllabuses. With 8 albums to her name, she is currently signed to First Word Records, London. Along the way, there’s been a nomination for 'Instrumentalist of the Year 'from Jazz FM and she’s garnered the support of DJs such as Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum and BBC 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews. A  virtuosic fusion of jazz,classical and hip hop, at times groove based,  at times cinematic. Whiting's music transports the listener in thoroughly unexpected ways.
