Cindy Horstman has arranged Charles H. Gabriel’s “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” for two pedal harps (or one lever and one pedal harp). “My arrangement of this classic is dedicated to Brook Boddie. I have heard that this was Brook’s favorite piece so I wanted to arrange it as a tribute to him,” says the arranger. Upbeat with a Latin-jazz feel, the music creates a calm yet uplifting atmosphere. This is a lovely tribute to Brook Boddie. As usual, Cindy’s harmonies are beautiful and her jazz style is fun to play. I look forward to the opportunity of playing this arrangement.

This arrangement of “His Eye is on the Sparrow” is a refreshing upbeat tribute to Brook Boddie. I am enjoying learning to play it with the Dallas College Brookhaven Jazz Harp Ensemble and look forward to learning the solo version.
If you like jazzing up traditional music, you will enjoy this one.

Innovative rhythm and jazz harmony gives this lovely hymn a spritely makeover. Well-written and carefully notated, it is another gem from Cindy Horstman.
