Ah! Is your harp tuned in C? A lot of folks tune in Eb which is why so many of these tunes are in Eb. Yeah, you would either have to re-tune your harp, or transpose the tunes.
If you decide to re-tune, just tune your B, E and A strings to Bb, Eb and Ab. If your harp is fully levered, then you can play anything from 3 flats to 4 sharps. If your harp is partially levered, it gets a bit complex

Do you use an electronic tuner? One which can shift the frequency? I use a Korg CA-30 which can shift A from 410 Hz to 480 Hz. I had a similar experience to yours, but my “Fairy” turned out to be a friend of my boyfriend’s who can’t resist any electronic gadget and when left unsupervised for a moment with a beer in his hand had discovered my tuner lying about, switched it on and started messing with all the buttons. I found myself trying to tune with A = 410 next time I used it.
There are definitely such things as fairies, but mine tend to appear in the form of large long-haired beer swilling creatures. Sweet natured, but need to be kept away from button-encrusted gadgets.

Thanks for your help. It looks like I’m going to have to upgrade my software. The help manual couldn’t find “Mid clef changes” or “Note mover tool”. I’m using the cheap’n’cheerful version PrintMusic – and now I am discovering why it is cheap! False economy. Ah well….

You don’t say which examination board you are interested in doing your diploma with, but I would assume that the harp requirements are broadly similar. Check out the ABRSM website – the harp requirements for grades up to 8 can be found at http://www.abrsm.org/resources/harpSyllabusComplete08.pdf
