ParticipantI make the younger students’ parents practice with their children (usually until about age 9 or 10).

ParticipantEveryone in Macon seems so proud of the fact that we have more churches than any other city, so when you asked, I googled it… it’s all over that we “have more churches per capita” , but I couldn’t find an actual figure.

Participant“The Other Sister” has a wedding harpist
Serendipidy has a wedding harpist
Annie – Grace plays the harp (on the wrong side) during “We’ve Got Annie”
There also is a Shirly Temple movie, when she was a young adult where the love interest’s girl friend is a harpist and performs for a garden full of listeners
The Kay Kendall/ Yul Brenner movie – “One More Time with Feeling” is a hoot!

ParticipantAfter trying again to explain all the reasons not to 1) rush into a purchase and 2) why “you get what you pay for”, I convinced her to hold off until I could locate her a good used one.

ParticipantThe list is actually pretty endless (as far as harp parts go), but here is a problem I’ve encountered – the youth orchestra, where I have 2 students, is not able to play alot of the student harp repitoire like Night on Bald Mt. or even Carmen.

ParticipantThe idea of group lessons is interesting, but I already teach an ensemble once a month and I find that the students don’t get as much accomplished as in single classes.

ParticipantSaul,
I live in Middle Ga. – about 1 1/2 from Atlanta, the next closest city with any professionals. I have thought about a full time nanny but figured that 2 days a week is all I’d really need is someone during the hours that my homeschoolers come (which is about 1/2 of all my students) and when I’m at the University.Calista Anne Koch
ParticipantThanks for the responses,
I have more than 40 students and really wouldn’t be willing to take too much time off or drop any students as there are not any other competent teachers within 1 1/2 hours drive.

ParticipantMy sister began the same day I did.
