I just noticed that there should be a B# in the final glissando in Les Follets by Hasselmans. It’s the only pedal that isn’t already marked in the music. It made me think that perhaps many have not noticed the missing pedal marking and have done the gliss with the B in the wrong position.
Elizabeth- The original edition would in all likelyhood not have had any pedals written in. Is it the pedal marking that is missing or the # sign next to the note?
The pedal marking is missing in my edition, and the gliss doesn’t show any B#’s, but rather has the repeated C naturals. It would be easy to assume that one doesn’t have to think about the pedals, since the rest are already marked. I have never performed this piece, and was just teaching it when I noticed the omission and marked in the B#. Goodness knows, you can proof-read until you’re blue in the face, and errors still creep in.
