What to place under your harp while performing, practicing, that glides on hardwood floors?

I have a Lyon and Healy Harp. I live, and often perform on hard wood floors or smooth large flat “tiles”(like in hospital). I dont know what everyone is using. Sometimes I need to move, slip the harp easy without picking it up. Call me lazy or overly fidgeting, but at times in my studio room, I have two windows and and two overhead registers blowing air, I move my harp to the best location daily. I have to move it often also to just move in my personal space. What do you use or recommend to use that wont scratch floor and glide with ease. Right now I have a bathroom shag rug folded in half and it works but looks really odd. Anything professional? Websites?
I have seen Flexi Felt for chairs, tables, are their any to put on the feet?

I got a friendly harp technician to fit wheels to the front feet of my L&H – like the ones that are on Salvis – and am really glad I did!

I own a Salvi, and they have wheels on them… Why do L&H harps come without wheels?

You may only want to put the slidey stuff on the front of the base; the last thing you want is for the thing to shoot out from under you when you tilt it toward yourself.

I guess this is one of the advantages of being a big, burly man playing the harp. When I want to move it I just pick it up.

I never knew that Savlis had wheels on them,. I even went to the show room a few weeks ago and played some (for the first time) and didn’t know it haha. Does anyone mind posting a pic (if possible)? I’m curious as to where the placement is and whatnot and just cause I hadn’t noticed them before.

For me, I have had great success using Shelf Lining (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=shelf+liner&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ashelf+liner) to stick under the back feet of the harp when I am playing on hardwood/title floors-it’s great!!!!!! You can probably pick it up at the $1 store or similar-make sure it’s the “foamy/springy-ish” liner and not contact paper. Good luck!!!!!

Thank you Stephanie for the suggestion about the foam liner. Its alot cheaper than buying another harp. Thanks. I have a dolly to move it around the house and out of the house that works great, but the foam liner would be something to look into.

@ Janis. Yes this was my concern. Last thing I want is the harp to fly away from me and situating the foam liner in the front. What I have found is that the rug I actually use now does have some “GRIP” and some slide when I fold it just right so its the right medium if you will. Moves good and has enough resistance. Wheels isnt a good thing at all in my opinion. A harp on wheels (even with locking system)is an accident waiting to happen around others, children etc. I just dont trust others with a very expensive instrument. Wheels sound like a terrific thing that Lyon and Healy SHOULD start doing but maybe there is a reason? I dont know. But I am willing to try something cheaper too. foam inserts. Thanks!
