I am teaching Petite Suite by David Watkins. In several places, it has the symbol “H” before a wavy line, which I assume means p.d.l.t., but I can’t figure out what the “H” stands for. Is this symbol only found in David Watkins’ pieces, or is it used elsewhere?

Never seen it anywhere else! It says in the score that it is “to be played low in the strings”. I’ve always assumed he means somewhere between normal playing position and true pdlt – which he notates as “pdt” in the last mvt. Funnily enough I never really gave the “H” much thought. I need to ask him now!
