Used harp music for sale or free!!!

OK, I can’t find that post about looking for used harp music. So, I just started looking through some of the boxes of music I’m storing and there’s no way I’m going to make an inventory of this stuff and post it on line. I’m too busy and life is too short and there’s no money in it. So there!

Having said that, Anyone who is passing through Boston who wants to see what is here should contact me and come browse as long as you want. There are harps in the room so you can try whatever you are looking at. In most cases, I will give away, free, whatever is in those boxes that you want to take.

Most of it is for pedal harp. But there is quite a bit that was arranged for lever harp(Daniel Burton collections for example). There are some piano pieces that were obviously played on harp. There is some religious music. There’s a lot of beginner and low intermediate level stuff. There are popular arrangements and also some very old method books.

Much of the stuff was never used, and some of it was used and has some markings in it.

So contact me if you want to see any of this stuff when you come to Boston. I’m guessing off the top of my head that there are at least 1000 different pieces here to look at.

Here’s an update on this post. I just received a long very informative private email from a reader here who suggested selling the music by the pound, and selling it basically sight unseen. In other words, you could buy 5 pounds of music at $7 per pound plus shipping cost and then go through the music when you get it and see what you’ve got. I’m not going to sort through to find specific titles or specific types of music for you. You’d be taking pot luck on what’s in the box. But if you do any teaching at all, or play the usual gigs(weddings, background,etc.) there will be plenty of stuff that you can use or pass on to your students. The woman who wrote me said she has bought music in bulk this way and then sold individual pieces on ebay. I haven’t got time or the interest in dealing with individual pieces or ebay. So someone else is welcome to do it. So I’m willing to sell music at $7 a pound with a 5 pound minimum and shipping costs extra, and if you buy 10 pounds or more in one order the price per pound drops to $5. Trust me, that will give you a lot of music at a deeply discounted rate.

If I sell mine by the yard, will it be possible to compare? How else can you measure music? Depth of pile?

Another update- I’m getting swamped by requests for this music. I had no idea there would be so much interest. I will try this week to collect everything I’ve got together in one place and then start filling orders in the order they came in. I’ll keep you posted.
