Hi!
I was wondering if anyone could answer my question regarding transport covers for a concert grand harp.
I currently own a L&H Prelude harp and with it I purchased the transport covers made for the Salvi Daphne 40.
Next year I am planning to make the leap to Pedal harp and have been eyeing up with Salvi Aurora as a possibility. Now, would the base and potentially pillar cover fit the Aurora or will I need to purchase another full set of covers that are Concert Grand sized?
Base covers come in sizes. A lever harp has a much smaller base than a pedal harp. Likewise, a 40 string harp has a much shorter column than a concert grand.
Hello,
I’m looking to buy a transport cover for my Salvi Symphony semi-grand harp. Would you recommend a Lyon & Healy or a Salvi cover or some other brand? I’ve heard good things about Salvi covers but would like some advice before I buy one.
Like tailored clothes, covers are made to fit specific harps and you will find that even for harps of a comparable size, the shape of the triangle varies significantly between manufacturers, so when you hang a cover from one make over another you find how much that triangle differs !!
I like base covers and I like column covers. I don’t like the heavy transport covers. I don’t feel they offer any additional protection to the overall instrument, and they are difficult to handle and to store.
My company makes old fashioned canvas covers with ties. Not zippers, not velcro. Ties that are long enough to really tie the cover shut. You can find the information on my web site.
