I had a rental lever harp returned recently, and it came back with the 2nd octave F string sounding like a “thug” (no pitch).

Does it happen when the lever is engaged only?

Lisa,

I had this problem many years ago and I believe it was Paul Knoke that responded to my question saying that it was probably a loose screw on that particular lever.
