Is there a shortage of gut strings again? I broke a 4th octave E and could not find anyone who had a Bow Brand available. I ended up ordering a Burgundy just to have a spare.

Bill, I have used Premier gut strings available from the Atlanta and the Virginia Harp Centers, with great success. I did this on my L&H 85 when Bow Brands broke, and now on my Camac Atlantide Prestige. There is virtually no difference in the tone or feel, except that Premier is a little better, in my humble opinion. I still use Bow Brand wires, though!

Here in ei everything seems in order. Just had this discussion with a colleague and we seem to be pretty well stocked

I just searched on harp.com for concedo gut strings so I could post a reply on “Vision and Strings” here on these forums. Some of these strings are “out of stock” and I could indeed see what Bill was talking about, above! Maybe there is a shortage of Bow Brand gut strings in the USA. I just use Premier, which I like better anyway, but to my knowledge, they don’t make any white ones like concedo.
