Do I want to remove the stationary nut washers on my L&H? I see Pratt recommends this is done by 5 years of age, and I am well past that, but wonder if this has changed since the 1960s. On close examination the low guts are meeting the sharp disk nearly a millimeter out from their centre.

What is the purpose of removing them?

It reduces the torque on the neck.
