Hi I’m Mia
I’m writing some harp stories for FUN & would like to share some with you all
These stories are all maid up
This story is calledCrystal’s Concert

Once In the emerald isle of Ireland there lived a beautiful harper named Claddaugh. she has long flowing red hair & the nicest eyes. She was very tall & sweet. Claddaugh has many harps. One of her harps is a wire strung harp & she is named Lilly.
One day Claddaugh was practicing for a concert when 10 strings popped & she didn’t have any wire strings. So she called the harp Co. but they were closed because it was St. Patricks Day. So she called her harp friend Clover to see if she had any spare strings for her wire harp. But she said “ I don’t play the wire harp.” After they hung up. Claddaugh heard a small voice coming from crystal her harp necklace. The little harp said “can you take me off my chain so I can help?”
She did what the little harp said & that little harp grew into a full size wire harp. Claddaugh was so surprised that she said “ praise God I have a Harp to play on.”
Than Crystal said “come & play my strings.” So Claddaugh tried the harp & the harp sang. Than she asked “how am I going to get you to my concert?” Than the harp said “put the chain back around me.” So Claddaugh did what the harp said & the harp went back to being a necklace.
That afternoon Claddaugh had the concert & she did better that she thought. After the concert she got 20 new harp students & lots of concerts.
The next week Claddaugh got her harp restrung & she didn’t have anymore broken strings for a while.

I think the story is charming — and maybe you can compose a short piece of harp music that you think is something like what Claddaugh must have played. Perhaps you could write a series of harp stories like this and publish them together with sheet music of the various songs and airs that people play in each of the stories.

Oh My Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been wanting to get my harp stories & music published.
But I don’t play the wire harp & some of my stories have the wire strung harp.
I wish I knew some more Irish music besides Be Thou My Vision.
I’m fairly good at writing music for the harp though.
Keep in mind I don’t see very good.

Yes, you should definitely get your harp stories publish. That was beautiful.

This was my favorite part of the story:

As for publishing a book….it is expensive, and then you have to market it, package it, and ship it.
I published THE LOVELY WEDDING, a book (two volumes) of harpisodes about experiences playing for weddings. Hopefully, readers can get some good laughs…that was my intention.

I can say that it has not made the NYT bestseller list, even tho the price is low. Just recouping what you pay to publish is hard to do. Only harpists would be interested, and I think most of them don’t read books.

Hear’s another harp story for you to enjoy
Little Mary & The Orchestra

Once their was a harpist named Gina. She has long curly brown hair & chocolate brown eyes. She was the best harpist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Gina taught the harp too.
Gina likes to play classical music for the harp. She has many harp students & harps. One of her students is named Claddaugh & another one is named Clover.
they are both twin sisters.
Claddaugh has red hair & irish green eyes & Clover has mahogany hair & brown eyes. One day Gina decided to invite Claddaugh & Clover to the CSO. for a harp concert. While she was practicing on her harp 15 Strings popped, 6 disks fell off the neck, all the pedals got stuck in flat & wouldn’t move & their was a crack down the entire soundboard. So Gina decided to call the harp co & see if she could bring the harp into be repaired but they were closed for that weekend.
So Gina decided to call her harp students Claddaugh & Clover to see if ether of them had a harp to lend but… they said “We need our harps to play for tonight’s concert with the orchestra.” After they hung up Gina heard a small voice coming from Little Mary her harp necklace. The harp said “Can you take me off my chain?” So she did what the little harp said & that little harp grew into a gold pedal harp. Gina was so surprised that she nearly went blind.
Then Little Mary said “Come play my strings.” So she played the harp & that harp had the wormiest tone Gina had ever herd. She asked “How am I going to get you to the concert?” Than Little Mary said “ Put the chain back around me.” So Gina did what the harp said & the pedal harp went back to being a necklace. As soon as Gina got there she practiced and practiced unto Claddah and Clover came and they all played together & had a lot of fun.
That evening the concert was a success thanks to Gina and her magical harp Little Mary.
After the concert they all went home & Gina got 20 more students claddaugh & Clover got 10 new students each. The next week Gina took her harp into get fixed and she had no more problems after that.

These are very charming stories — definitely keep a collection of them and of your own music. And don’t forget the best Irish harper and harp composer of them all, Turlough o’Carolan, couldn’t see either. I’m sure there’s a way to get your music written down.
