E NB, You mention Ray Pool’s Gershwin arrangements: these are well done but not likely for sale anywhere, any more. Gershwin’s music is copyrighted and there were issues a few years ago with his arrangements, by the copyright holders.

Sarah, I hope you transcribe Autumn King.

I looked these up and they’re still available at every harp retailer I shop from.

Did you look at the link in my reply? As Jennifer said, they’re available just about everywhere.

I wrote some pieces specifically to be playable on lever or pedal harp, which can be found at http://www.theavondalepress.com/catalog/solos-for-lever-or-pedal-harp/ and http://www.theavondalepress.com/catalog/seasons-in-vancouver-suite/
They are from an intermediate to advanced level. Some are in the Royal Conservatory of Music Syllabus. A live performance of The Damselfly and The Downstairs Spider from the first book is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsItIe9P6yA
    I hope this helps!

Thanks, glad you like it. Unfortunately that book IS out print right now, since there’s one copyright holder who just can’t be bothered to renew our license for their part of one of the pieces in it. 🙁

But at least Ray’s books are easy to find.

You said serious music, so get a copy of Telynn by Pierick Houdy, or the Quatres Caprices Diatoniques by Alexander Tcherepnin, of which I gave the U.S. premiere.

Saul, I find that really interesting. Did you play the Tcherepnin piece on the Troubador? Were both intended for Celtic harp?

Could you describe each of these pieces a little?

In my opinion this thread just gets better and better as more people contribute. I really look forward to getting some of these pieces to look at and hopefully play.
