ParticipantTry the William Harp Gallery site – they have started producing an all aluminum cart with big pneumatic tires – I really love mine – and it gets a lot of use!

ParticipantI don’t even think that this poster, “John Doe”, is on the level.

ParticipantThe 3 wheel (on each side, so a total of 6) harp cart, I think its K cart or tri-cart or something, is a reliable cart.

ParticipantHi John,
So glad to see you back, things have been so boring without you! You are so mysterious, bitter and twisted…really my sort of guy….I’m on the bitter and twisted side myself these days. And well, keep the punters guessing, that’s my motto!

ParticipantAnd PS, did the cart perchance turn green as well??

ParticipantAnd was the harp that just fell off of the “defective” Salvi cart the same harp that you own that was turning green, the Salvi Minerva?

ParticipantHi Anita,
As a new girl I apologise for some of my silliness…we have a history with Mr Doe, us regular columnites!

ParticipantHi Maria,
Yes, isn’t Mr Doe so intriguing. I love a bit of drama…he told a wonderful story about someone locking themselves in the wood drying room at the Salvi factory and setting it on fire due to the cruel treatment of Mr Victor himself. Ooohhh, it was just like a B grade soap opera, and someone suggested a new reality show (

ParticipantRosemary, I think the reason the cart fell apart and was stinky is because it was in that closet at the Salvi factory that caught on fire. That’s what I think!!

ParticipantAnd maybe the harps were in there too and that is what turned all those harps green….the foam from the fire extinguisher!!…
But seriously, if John does have a real complaint I’d love to know it. I know that harp companies can be naughty and this is the right forum for it, so that you can let others know so they do not make the same mistakes. So, if he does want to have a chat about it, I should probably stop teasing him so he can come out with it….

ParticipantWell, John, we’ve heard a juicy story about the Salvi company, now how about one about Venus, and the others, too? They all have them, we know, all too well. And how about Salvi’s secret anti-Salzedo plot to subvert his influence here by importing his harps, taking over Lyon & Healy, making them put gut strings in the second octave instead of nylon, etc. How many conspired in that one? What’s next? They took over the strings, next…
Then there’s the Venus plot to knock off Lyon & Healy models, undercut their prices, steal away their clients, boy have they succeeded.
And what’s Aoyama been up to?
Oh, and Lyon & Healy is supposed to have started dealerships just to try to put potential competitors out of business (didn’t work).
(in jest)
(or is it?)

ParticipantWell yes, harp companies are in it to make money. Business is ruthless and business people are ruthless. And any company that tells you otherwise, that they really care about you or you are a member of
