I had posted elsewhere wondering if there was a repository for classic movie scores, so I thought I’d see if I could get more responses with an independent post.

Is there any group or central gathering place for printed scores for the fabulous movie music that was recorded during the fourties-fifties-sixties? I’m sure the copies were rough manuscripts, but even to know the instrumentation of some of those grand old scores would be great.

Is there any good place to start searching?

Most of these would still be under copyright, so the online public domain sheet music projects won’t be extremely helpful, but
