Problem with Lyon and Healy harp cart

I recently purchased the Lyon and Healy harp cart from Atlanta Harp Center, but it does not fit my Style 17 (which is not a full size harp, but a semi grand). The bottom straps are too short to go around the base of the harp. I have compared it to a friend’s older cart, which has straps that are at least 4″ longer than mine, and that would work, but mine does not. I have seen a harp strap extension elsewhere, but do not know if that would work,

I’d call them. It sounds like they lost your message or it didn’t get through an email filter. Since business usually have contact information on their web sites, their emails get picked up by a lot of automated spammers and sometimes messages get blocked by accident.

Sherj, I have this cart although mine is older. I have only ever used the top strap and it is fine wtih just the one. The bottom was too much of a pain. And I am always holding onto the harp when I move it so I think it is fine. I know others who use this cart and also only use the top strap as well. But call AHC. I am sure they will help you.

My harp cart came with a really silly strap (it was second hand about 16 years ago so I am not casting nasturtiums at current production).

I love my cart (no longer in production) and have had to replace the strap over the years several times from wear. I buy it from a fabric store; looks like seat belt strapping. You can use the hardware from the original and just make a longer one to suit your needs.

I just purchased one at Christmas. I love it. I ordered through the Virginia Harp Center and it was shipped directly from Lyon and Healy.

My top strap is attached to the cart and adjustable. The bottom straps attach to each side of the dolly with each strap being 27ish inches each and one of the straps is adjustable so this is at full length. I measured from the wood to the end of the strap on each side. How long are your straps?

I have a Camac electro-acoustical 44 string. I have more than enough room for a concert grand. With 27ish on each side and a good 16ish for the width of the dolly, I have a circumference of a good 70 inches.

Because I am a newbie and had no clues, I originally tried to keep the bottom straps as one and then wondered why there was so many “buckles”. And it did not go around the base of my harp. LOL!

As others have suggested above, a fabric store has all sorts of strap material to make or extend straps to keep your harp safe on its dolly. I use 1 1/2 inch black elastic, around the
