I recently purchased a pre-owned 1 yr old Petite 40 that I use primarily for weddings. I dislike the sound of the 5th octave gut strings – they are so thick and sound so “thuddy.” I was wondering if I should try some lever gut on just those strings or if I should try using 4th octave pedal gut on those 5 strings. Thoughts?
