Hello all.
Well, after much effort, we’ve got the new Harp Column website ready for use at http://musicstand.harpcolumn.com.
There are a couple things you should know about it:
* I have precreated accounts on the new site for everyone who uses harpcolumn.com regularly
* I haven’t had time to move the classifieds over yet — they’re coming soon
* I haven’t had time to move the magazine subscription bits over yet — that’s coming soon too
* This site will continue running for another few weeks until that is done
* I will be transferring these forums over too and working out a way to not break any links to posts.
There is, I’m not kidding, a *whole ton* of great new stuff on the new site. Please check it out and let Kim and I know what you think!

For years, harpcolum.com users have been asking each other
“what’s on your music stand?” We decided to re-invent harpcolumn.com so
that sharing information about the pieces you’re working on, instruments
you play, and concerts you give is the central focus. Of course we
still have discussion forums where you can discuss pretty much anything
harp related (or not!), along with a host of other new features, like
blogs and practice journals, that we think you’re going to love! Read on
for an in depth look at how to use the new site.>>I guess this means that I can retire my quarterly segment “What’s on your music stand.”

September 23, 2012 at 12:23 am #102915SylviaParticipantI thought you said we’d be able to post pictures, but I didn’t see anywhere about that…or can we post pics on any of the new forums?
September 23, 2012 at 12:55 am #102916Owosso HarpistParticipantNice.
September 23, 2012 at 1:50 am #102917jennifer-buehlerMemberWill you set this sight up to outoredirect or will we need to put the new url in our browser?
September 23, 2012 at 7:26 pm #102918SylviaParticipantI agree that this site should autoredirect to the new one because not everyone (including me) reads the column every day and some might miss the info.
As for the new site, I really DO NOT like the small print.
September 23, 2012 at 8:34 pm #102919kimberly-roweMemberHi all!
At the point we merge the sites, both urls (www.harpcolumn.com and musicstand.harpcolumn.com) will go to the new site. We will not be getting rid of the harpcolumn.com address! Sylvia, I agree the type is on the small side, I’ve just zoomed in with my browser, as I’m afraid I have to do with many sites these days! I will pass on your concerns to our webmaster!
Thanks for the input!

September 24, 2012 at 12:06 pm #102921kimberly-roweMemberSherry: We’re woking on that feature now! You should see it very soon.

September 24, 2012 at 6:55 pm #102924Saul Davis ZlatkovskiParticipantI don’t see how to edit my profile. How public is the information on this site going to be? Do we want the whole world to see what instruments we have? Will the content be restricted to members?
September 30, 2012 at 7:20 pm #102925tonie-ogimachiParticipantLove it! Thanks so much!
